Blossoms
Social play group for older elementary children
We are offering a group that combines movement, self-regulation, flexible thinking and fun to increase your child’s social skills. This class is taught by an occupational therapist with over 20 years of experience and focuses on social activities to practice motor skills, appropriate social interactions and social games for our 3rd-4th graders. Classes provide opportunities to practice and use social skills within structured activities, movement activities and games. Emphasis will be placed on playing with peers, good sportsmanship, how to enter and exit play, problem solving and negotiations, turn taking, sharing, and cooperation. Lessons and activities will also be provided on recognizing and regulating alertness levels. Classes utilize fine motor activities, simple gross motor games, common recess games, and board games to teach new skills.
Ongoing classes are are held on Tuesday from 3:30-5pm.

Branching Out
We are offering a group that is designed to help early elementary age children improve their social skills, self-regulation, and motor skills. Classes provide opportunities to practice and use social language and skills within movement activities and games.
Emphasis will be placed on the following areas:
- Cooperative and interactive play
- Good sportsmanship
- Games
- Gross and fine motor skills
- Sequencing crafts
- Sharing and cooperation
- Following increasingly complex directions and patterns
- Recognizing and regulation of alertness levels
This class is taught by an occupational therapist with over 20 years of experience. Ongoing classes are held on Wednesday from 4:00 to 5:30 pm.

Seeds to Success
We are offering a group that is designed to help children ages 5 to 6 get ready for kindergarten and first grade. This class combines socialization, pragmatic language, cooperative play, self-regulation, fine motor development and simple writing skills. This class is taught by an occupational therapist and a speech-language pathologist..
Areas addressed in the class include:
- cooperative and interactive play
- pragmatic language
- negotiation and turn taking
- fine motor development
- self regulation
- gross motor games to support core strength development
Classes provide opportunities to practice and use social skills within movement activities and games: develop fine motor skills with projects, crafts and tools, and will work with beginning letter writing.
Class will be held Monday 4:00 to 5:30 pm. Classes are ongoing. Registration for this class is going on now.

Groups forming now!!!
Sprouts is a small intensive therapy group offered for children 3 to 4 years of age who could benefit from some extra help. The group focuses on helping children who have delays in:
- Receptive and expressive language skill
- Articulation development
- Fine and gross motor skills
- Sensory integration
- Cognitive skills
- Social communication and peer play
- Social-emotional development
The group is taught jointly by Jodi Huber, occupational therapist, and Lisa R. Worrell, speech-language pathologist, through As Children Blossom Therapy Center,
Group activities: The therapists utilize a combination of approaches and methodologies in an effort to individualize the program as needed for each child. Activities include facilitated free play, gross motor games, fine motor activities, arts and crafts, group tabletop games, circle time, and snack. All activities are facilitated to help each child participate to his/her highest degree, communicate with therapist and peers and prepare for preschool.
Goals addressed within the group:
- Developing fine and gross motor skills
- Improving sensory integration
- Developing receptive and expressive language skills
- Developing social communication skills
- Developing school readiness skills
- Developing successful transitions between activities
- Developing appropriate play skills with peers

BUDS
As Children Blossom Therapy Center is happy to offer a therapeutic play group for toddlers and preschoolers! This group is designed for young children who have delays in expressive and receptive language, sensory-processing skills, gross and fine motor skills, and play skills. Children 2-3 years of age will explore and play in the therapy center to address:
· Gross and fine motor skills
· Expressive and receptive language
· Social pragmatic language
· Sensory integration
· Appropriate play skills
· Following group routines and transitions
This group will be taught by an occupational therapist and speech pathologist and utilize a variety of methods to address each child’s individual needs while working in a group setting and improving play with peers. Groups are held Thursdays from 9:15 to 11:15am.
