Kitty McDaniel, M.A., CCC-SLP, began her second career in speech-language pathology soon after her three-year old son was diagnosed
with a speech-language impairment. She attended graduate school at San Jose State University part-time while caring for her children. She is
licensed nationally by the American Speech, Language, and Hearing Association (ASHA), the California State Board, and has obtained a

Her experience as the mother of two children with ADHD and speech-language difficulties enable her to respond with empathy and
compassion, as well as provide parents with practical advice on navigating the medical and educational systems. Early intervention holds a
special place in her heart, as she experienced its power with her son. Other areas of interest include social skills, language delay, and apraxia.
Moving around the world as a Navy brat, including a stint in the Philippines, instilled a love of travel and an interest in cultures and
languages. She hopes to further this interest in the work of accent modification with adults who are non-native speakers. Her first career in
computer software training has proved helpful in adapting technology to speech and language treatment and laid the foundation for a
desire to develop language treatment apps for the iPad.
